DCRs WILL JUKES TO PLAY FIRST SUMMER FESTIVAL
DCR are proud to announce that Dunoon’s popular DG Will Jukes from Sundays Beat Generation will be appearing at the first Festival of the summer STEREOFUNK at the Strathclyde Country Park Sunday 6th May.
Will be appearing in the VIP AREANA and is hoping to see and meet many of his listeners at the event. After the huge success of last year’s sell out event
Stereofunk returns to Strathclyde Park for the first festival of 2012 and it’s bigger and better than ever.
Over 90 DJs and 12 live bands will be performing across seven arenas on Bank Holiday, Sunday 6th of May.
Alongside some of Scotland’s finest DJ talent, lined up are some of the best tribute bands in the business and a fine selection of Scotland’s top unsigned bands.
In the Stereofunk Main Arena future superstar DJs The Bingo Players will be amazing the sell out crowd these guys have been making huge waves in the world of clubbing and are responsible for ‘Rattle’, one of the biggest club tunes of 2012 so far.
Supporting them will be Stereofunks very own ‘Kelman Lennon’ smashing it up with 4 decks Efx.
On the Unsigned Live Stage is none other than the legendary Hoosiers. After playing every major festival across the length and breadth of the country the guys drop into to rock ‘the funk’ for the very first time.
Supporting them will be some of the best tribute bands in the business including Noasis, The Underground Jam, The Ok Social Club and a host of the best unsigned bands in Scotland.
In the Old Skool tent in association with Level 2 nightclub, the king of Old Skool himself, George Bowie of Clyde 1’s GB Experience will be doing his thing supporting is an array of Scotland’s finest DJs past and present. Expect all your favourite anthems, dance and trance all day long taking you back to the good old days.

Andy Duguid’s career took off in September 2006 when his production “Hypocrisy” was picked up by the mighty Tiesto. The support of the grand elite of DJ’s followed soon after that when Hypocrisy gained heavy support during sets from Paul van Dyk and Armin van Burren, and after being added to Tiesto’s playlist for many consecutive weeks. Being signed to Black Hole after the bidding war that followed, Hypocrisy was an instant club smash and simultaneously landed the career of Andy Duguid, instantly establishing a name for himself in the almost impregnable forest of producers in the scene as we know it today
The official follow up “Don’t Belong” virtually followed the same path, hailed by the industry as one of the biggest tracks of 2007. Don’t Belong initially got signed to one of the biggest compilation series globally, Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise and it didn’t take long before Black Hole picked up the single for official release. Following the release of Don’t Belong, Andy’s creation, “Wasted” firmly placed Andy in the scene as one of the best. As a result of his high quality production work, Andy Duguid soon became a frequently asked remixer for numerous prolific artists such as Tiesto, OceanLab and Cosmic Gate to name a few, which were released on the biggest labels globally such as Maelstrom, Anjunabeats, Ultra and his current home base, Black Hole Recordings.
In 2008 Andy’s dream of releasing an album came true with the release of “Believe”. Not a bad review was to be found about “Believe” and again the high quality of every track was noticeable. With collabs from Julie Thompson, Leah and Solarstone to name a few, “Believe” was regarded as one the best EDM albums in 2009 gaining 5 stars from the highly regarded DJ Mag.
Andy was now a “wanted” producer for some of the biggest names in the scene, so it was no surprise that soon after the release of “Believe”, Andy was working on another album. This time, for Julie Thompson, producing her entire debut album, “Feeling for Corners” in 2009.
In 2010 Andy’s name as a DJ was to take a huge step with the release of the brand new mix compilation series, “Miracle Moments”. The double CD showcases Andy’s mixing talents with his artistic flare which creates a 2 hour long masterpiece spread over 2 discs. Reviews around the world held the album in high regard and Andy’s fan base grew to another level.
Next to his Andy Duguid moniker, Andy produces under various successful alter egos such as Reeves, who has found a home with giant’s, Anjunabeats and Emilio Fernandez who received massive support for one of the best selling tracks on Black Hole Recordings, “Reynosa”.
Andy’s string of successful top quality releases has pushed him to the top of the production world and in turn, has seen him travel to all corners of the planet performing as one of the best DJ’s in the world today which is also showcased each and every Tuesday night on http://www.di.fm with his hit radio show and podcast, After Dark Sessions. After Dark Sessions is fastly becoming one of the best EDM shows on the planet. Beat Beat-Generation Scotland Exclusive.
As a first for Beat Generation we will be introducing one of the Finest Female DJ’s Scotland has to offer. This sunday the show will host a guest mix for DJ Karen Aston ( Aston Karen ). Tune in this Sunday from 10pm till 12pm on DRC 97.4fm and online.
DJ Karen Aston, originally from Cornwall, has harboured a passion for music from the tender age of 6, when she started singing, playing the flute, piano, saxaphone and viola.
Much of her childhood was spent performing and travelling with various Orchestras around the UK.
After leaving school she moved to London to complete a music degree.
Her music interest turned into a obsession following a trip to Australia where she found herself on a yacht party in Sydney harbour with four amazing UK djs. This combined with numerous trips to The White Isle and various UK clubs, led her to the lure of the decks and the headphones, turning her focus to DJ’ing.
Karen has been fortunate to meet and talk with some amazing and influential djs, and after collaborations with the legendary Todd Terry, and the fantastic Glasgow DJs, Iain Thomson and Ian Stirling, the stage was set for a catapult into the world of music and ultimately DJ’ing.
Within a month of starting out, Karen was offered a position playing in the Glasgow Club Ovo and Orbis and since then has gone on to be invited to play along some of Glasgows finest DJs with the LevelOne Crew.
If she’s not working, working out or boxing, you’ll find DJ Aston spinning a mix of vocal funky, chart, tech, trance and progressive house.
At present Karen is based in Glasgows One Up Club every Friday with Ian Stirling and plays along side the LevelOne Crew and Strictly House DJs throughtout the year.
Karen has been in Glasgow for fifteen years and despite having travelled all over the world she is happy to call Glasgow, home……..for now ;-p
Beat Generation Announcement :
As of this Sunday coming 8th Jan 2012 the show will be changing its scheduled time. We will still broadcast on a Sunday but will be moving to a new time slot of 10pm till Midnight. The show will now be a 2 hour show and will feature many more 1 hour guest mixes.
To launch the new time slot this Sunday coming we will have the legend that is Jon Mancini doing a 1 hour guest mix. Tune in at 10pm Sunday 8th.

This weekends show will feature a special guest mix from one of Glasgow’s hottest house DJ’s Raymond McDonald. This is massive and not to be missed.
Raymond has been DJin in clubs since he was 19 and his first gig was the infamous Metropolis in Saltcoats with Paul Carroll (RIP). It was Paul who got Raymond into DJin as they were both brought up in Lochside in Ayr & had been neighbours. Paul was involved when he helped Santa get Raymond his first set of KAM belt driven decks. Since the Metro he has DJ’d in gigs that include Osmosis @ Euro Hostel, Bar Moda, a few G1 units, Orbis,Tattoo & The Soundhaus.
He was resident for Burly @ The Arches. He felt honoured to get to play in this fantastic venue as this is where he used to go clubbing to nights such as Inside Out, Colours & Pressure where he seen some of the top DJ’s in the world playing (DJ Sneak, Mauro Picotto, Fergie & his fav DJ Erick Morillo). At the start of 2010 he was resident DJ for Bennets and was involved in the launch of The Box on a Monday night. This turned out to be the busiest night in Glasgow’s Gay Scene on a Monday. On a Saturday he played in Room 1 playing a mix of house, dance anthems and old skool. During his 18 months or so @ Bennets he became a firm favourite with the punters as they took to his infectious personality!
Radio
In July 2011 he made his debut on radio for his new monthly slot on Your Radio FM and plays a live mix while in the radio station. He was invited by the main presenter & DJ Stephen Pearson to play house music on his show. His guest mix is the 3rd Saturday of every month and you can listen live by clicking onto: http://www.yourradiofm.com/ The show starts at 6pm until 9pm. Raymond’s mix is usually around 8pm but please tune in if you like your tunes as Stephen plays a mix of hot new tunes and classics.

When Raymond got offered the chance to be a resident at this infamous venue he didn’t think twice about it. He had only ever been to the club once before and that was when he was 18 and it was to see his pal Paul Carroll DJ at the famous Boullie Sunday nights. The Boullie has graced some of Scotlands best DJ’s that include Colin Tevondale, Trevor Reilly, George Bowie & Noble Whitelaw to name a few. The music is a blend of chart, r&b, house & dance anthems & he plays alongside Dee J Libins. Doors open @ 11.30pm.
Strictly House
This is Raymond’s puppy! He is the promoter & a resident DJ of Strictly House – a fresh new club event showcasing the best in house music. He feels that Glasgow’s club scene has become far too commercialised with most clubs playing chart remixes, commercial r&b, commercial house etc. If the clubs won’t play what the customers are desperately crying out for then he feels its his mission to get quality music out there to the public. His resident DJ’s are AJ Mac, DJ Markio, Pete McLaughlin & Dave McLaughlin, Jonny Whyte & Rebecca Vasmant.
