SNOOP DOGG UPDATE
Snoop Dogg has change species, and musical direction (you could argue that he’s not rapped for years but for arguments sake lets just say he has), as he has taken up the new mantra of SNOOP LION, to go with his new reggae direction.
From his ‘Deep Cover’ beginnings as a young sidekick with Dr Dre, Snoop’s career has seen him star on two of the 90′s greatest hip-hop albums (Dre’s The Chronic and Snoop’s own Doggystyle) and, more recently, work alongside Katy Perry and Big Time Rush.
With Reincarnated, Snoop looks to reclaim the more revered moments of his career like what he saw in the 90′s, hopefully putting his shameless turns on a number of pop tracks over the past few years behind him.
This new reggae direction has thankfully helped Snoop put another few things behind him, as the enlightenment of Rastafarianism, (yes he’s changed faith too) and the music it helps him create, has helped him leave behind his bad boy, gangster image.
Gone are tracks like ‘Murder Was The Case’ and ‘Serial Killa’ and instead Snoop is singing songs like ‘No Guns Allowed.’
Recorded in Jamaica, with the blessing of Bob Marley’s family given to him, Reincarnated, will be released thorugh Snoop’s own Doggystyle label later this year. The first single from the album, ‘La La La’, is out now.

Our dedicated team members are located in Canada and the United States. We believe that radio should serve not only as a medium for music bout as a medium for entertainment, education, shared information and for bridging the gap of a world divided by socioeconomics, racial, gender, ageism, religion and other means by which disparities among the human race were created and descend through generations. As such, our daily programing is a mixture of diverse content in various formats.

todays show pt1
50 years ago, Jamaica won independence from the British-ruled West Indies Federation. Around that same time, popular music in Jamaica began solidifying into some of the many sounds we now think world wide of as Reggae.
Reggae Music has influenced all genres of music and has spawned many offshoots and Rupert will be celebrating 50 Years of reggae music during the next week or so on his Programmes, Sunday’s THE URBAN MUSIC and Wednesdays MID WEEK WITH RUPERT and REGGAE REGGAE SOURCE . . here you can pause and reflect on the best tunes from the First, Original and Most Up To Date Reggae charts in the World direct from Jamaica revealing the Best Dancehall no1 and the Reggae no1

Reggae and dancehall is the main source of the day we will be played
Reggae music has long been in the heart and soul of millions of fans across the globe and is still firmly rooted several decades after the genre became an household name. Urban Islandz fans has been asking what are the top ten greatest Reggae songs of all time. But lets talk a little bit about Reggae.
Reggae is a genre that grew out of several other musical styles, including both traditional Jamaican music, including ska and mento, and American R&B. Reggae only came about as a distinct genre in the 1960s. Reggae was the direct decent of rock steady. Many Jamaicans had not liked the name rock steady, and through a different version of an old song Fat Man, the artist Morgan changed the beat and he created a creep with an organ and rhythm guitar. The music sounded like the word reggae, and that’s how the name took off.
You the top 3 reggae tunes of all time choosen by urbanislandz.com
These will go down in history as the top 3 greatest Reggae songs of all time, due to their lyrics content, delivery, popularity and market penetration

Those who have heard Urban music box will know snoop dogg as another name a.k.a snoopedelic from his deejay faceoffs this will be his name when he comes back to the end of year faceoff with all of the world class deejays from around the world whom have also won 3 faceoffs in a row .
After his faceoff we played an exclusive track from snoop Knocc Em Down from the soundtrack of TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2
this was the 1st track in which he mentioned his new name snoop lion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aw4gbmqQ3cM
Pre-Order TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2 and to get the Snoop Dogg Stage and 4 Classic TEKKEN characters.
TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2 releases:
N.America – September 11, 2012
Japan – September 13, 2012
Europe – September 14, 2012

CURRENT DMC WORLD CHAMPION DJ Vajra OF denver u.s.a
VS
DEEJAY Zedd, Kaiserslautern, Germany
DJ Vajra – CURRENT 2011 DMC World Champion
DENVER – USA
Turntablist, Scratch DJ, Battle DJ, and Hip Hop producer.
One of the most well rounded DJs in the music scene today, DJ Vajra has earned his place among the industry’s elite. Whether he’s dominating the biggest battles in the world, touring all over the globe, or crushing a mix set at the club, his presence is ever growing and undeniable.
The name Vajra strikes fear into the hearts of DJs in the battle realm. His skills have earned him many accolades, including becoming the 2011 DMC USA & WORLD Champion. He can also rock the party, and proved it by smashing the field during three Red Bull Thre3style victories. It’s no wonder that legendary scratch icon DJ Q-Bert dubbed Vajra his “favorite DJ in the world right now”.
Audiences everywhere have been amazed by Vajra’s live performances, blowing the roof off of venues from New York to LA, London to Madrid, Tokyo to Beijing, and everywhere in-between. Anton Zaslavski (born September 2, 1989) known primarily by his stage name Zedd is a German electronic dance music producer and DJ from Kaiserslautern, Germany. He primarily produces in the electro house genre, but has branched out, drawing influences from progressive house, complextro and dubstep.
Biography
Anton is a classically trained musician, born from two musicians, who began playing the piano and drums at the age of four. In 2002 he began playing for the German band, Dioramic, signed by Lifeforce Records. Anton’s interest in producing electronic music was piqued after hearing ‘†’ by French electronic duo Justice He began producing electronic music in 2009.
Music Production
Under the name ‘Zedd’, Anton has produced a wide variety of remixes and originals. He first made waves in the scene when he won two different Beatport remix contests; his first original release, ‘The Anthem’, broke into the Beatport Electro house Top 20. His remix of Skrillex’s “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” broke into the Beatport Electro House Top Ten charts, coming to rest at #2. He has since produced remixes of well-known artists of the likes of The Black Eyed Peas, Fatboy Slim, Skrillex, and more. Anton creates his music using the Cubase suite of music production applications, and takes advantage of different plug-ins including the Sylenth1, Nexus and Omnisphere synthesizers.
In 2011, Zedd’s remixes of Lady Gaga’s tracks “Born This Way” and “Marry the Night” would appear on the Born This Way Deluxe Edition releases. In September, Zedd’s single “Shave It” was premiered as a thirty second teaser on Skrillex’s YouTube page, this being Zedd’s first release on OWSLA records.
In 2012, Zedd signed with Interscope Records and released his debut single from the label, Spectrum, with vocals by Matthew Koma. He then produced the Eva Simons song, I Don’t Like You, which was also released on Interscope. He also co-produced the track “Beauty and a Beat” with Max Martin and for Justin Bieber’s third studio album, Believe.

DEEJAY TOOMUCH BIO
Inspired by great DJ’s like DJ Finesse and DJ Degree, DJ Toomuch began dj’ing at age 21. Raised in New York, where Hip hop culture was created, DJ Toomuch took dj’ing very serious. After long sleepless nights of practicing, DJ Toomuch was confident enough to start rocking crowds. Young in his dj’ing career, DJ Toomuch was very hungry for exposure and work. He showcased his skills in many different forums such as; MC/DJ battles, local nightclubs, college talent shows and more. Soon after, he would get a chance to meet and start opening for DJ Finesse and DJ Degree. This would bring DJ Toomuch’s dj career to the next level.
Rocking venues in NYC like Gypsy Tea, Eugenes, China Club, Club One, and Crobar, DJ Toomuch received the exposure and attention long awaited for. Gaining respect not only from his mentors, DJ Finesse and DJ Degree but from the promoters as well. Soon after, DJ Toomuch held residency spots at Crobar, Brennans, Club Flow, and Tavern. He also dj’ed the following; New Years Eve party for the New Jersey Net’s All-Star player Richard Jefferson, live broadcasts/promotions for Party 105.3, and dj’ed abroad in one of the largest most popular clubs in Cancun Mexico, named Bulldogs.
DJ Toomuch relocated to Atlanta, GA to gain more exposure. He networked and began to establish himself in Atlanta. He rocked several clubs and partys in the Atlanta Unversity Center. His quick cuts and precise blends would quickly attract the attention of people, dj’s, and promoters. DJ Toomuch has rocked some of the hottest spots in Atlanta, such as; Compound, Dreams ATL, House Nightclub, Leapord Lounge, Barleys, Marc Ultralounge, and Fever Nightclub, just to name a few. DJ Toomuch can be heard on your number one urban internet radio station, http://www.flavor450.com, monday nights or spinning in a premier nightclub in Atlanta, GA

THE 2ND HOUR IS THE RETURN OF THE AFROHOUR !
EAST AFRICAN STYLE !
DJ MR.T KENYA – THE BEST MIX OF TUNES FROM UGANDA,TANZANIA & KENYA
George Mutuiri a.k.a Mr.T was born on 24th November in Meru Kenya. When you hear of Mr.T first thought that comes to your mind is of the classic Action figure Mr.T .Whatever that initial first thought might be,Mr.T has branded his name throughout the clubs in kenya’s capital and country as a whole Through his sure blendz mixtape series.it all began in 2006 with one turntable, a tape deck/Dvd player and an old school pyramid mixer. Mr.T felt that he could make remixes of popular records just like the ones he would hear on mix tapes and the radio, by blending the accapellas off the tape deck, with an instrumental playing on the turntable. This is the foundation, the originality and spontaneity that Mr.T brings to the turntables every time he gets on the set.
he was exposed to the d j culture early in life. He lived next to kenya’s fastest rising djs dj stylez and gichboy and once I witnessed the control the DJs had over the crowd and the way they made everybody enjoy themselves, I knew it was something that I wanted to do. Incredibly, thats exactly what he did.
Mr.T began like most local DJs – spinning at house parties and making mix tapes for friends at school. It was not until university that he began to focus on reaching a broader audience. As soon as the opportunity arose Mr.T started playing at crooked q’s in Nairobi. However, the drive did not end there. The momentum he gained on and the experience led him to joining dj stylez and rocking crowds as well as packaging radio shows for capital fm 98.4 Nairobi.
Once he officially became one of The codered djs, Mr.T decided it was time to step it up a notch. He began producing mix tapes that have now become nearly cult classics. Such mix tapes include The sure blendz ,The olskul sensation
The mix tapes and newfound exposure also helped make Mr.T a featured DJ on the kenyan club circuit. You name it and he has done it – carnivore, tembo, summit …etc .In this day in age, it is very rare that you come across a DJ like Mr.T. Playing everything from Hip Hop to R&B, Reggae to Rock and Classics his versatile and creative Djing style allows him to adapt to any crowd and ensures that everyone will have a good time.

DJ Edu offers an enticing look at African sounds on This is Afrobeats
Album review: 1Xtra presenter DJ Edu presents a lively showcase of up and coming African acts in This Is Afrobeats, with some impressive talent featured.
The dance floor has always been a hotspot for music revolutions. It’s where different styles and crowds sweat down together and new movements are fuelled. Take Afrobeats, the bold, youthful genre that nods to the fiery Afrobeat rhythms helmed by Lagos legend Fela Kuti but is more in key with glossy US hip hop/r’n’b than world music traditions.
The rapid global rise of Afrobeats has deep roots – African pop sounds (including Ghanaian high life and hip life) have been part of British nightlife for years. Its mainstream buzz involves various factors: fashionable soirées and dance crazes; packed British tours and chart anthems from the likes of Nigerian superstar D’banj; much-publicised props from the likes of Kanye and Jay-Z.
Passionate 1Xtra DJ Edu, the host of weekly show Destination Africa, is perfectly placed to compile This Is Afrobeats: a showcase of up-and-coming acts.
Afrobeats is a confident, unabashedly commercial sound that raises debate; the Auto-tuned productions here won’t appeal to everybody and they often emulate US stars (Asem calls himself ‘Africa’s very own Hova’ on No More KPayor).
At the same time, there’s an impressive force and pride to these dance smashes; Victoria Kimani provides the bold opener Ayaya Stronga Dan Eva, while rapper Naeto C proclaims he’s ‘the only MC with an MSc’ on Ten Over Ten. There’s also a stronger religious sentiment than you’d find on most US r’n’b (Duncan Mighty’s Hand Of Jesus).
Most excitingly, it’s a mash-up of pan-African roots and patois that really does cross continents. TIA is essentially a starting-point – this music is definitely going places.

SHOW STARTS AT 8PM – 10PM
ANOTHER REGGAE/DANCEHALL ARTIST HEADS FOR SHOW IN GHANA
Mavardo, Busy signal and now… Demarco reggae dancehall fever is taking over in ghana ,all this is coming after having contact myself with damian marleys promoter who now planing a series on concerts in africa starting with ghana ,now along with African Dancehall king, Samini whom took a lead role in taking mavardo to ghana ,samini whom i have seen my self in a boxing day concert in accra national staduim is not to be missed he is not only a good performer but also a good deejay . here is a few things about the gig which is on july 1st REPUBLIC DAY !
African Dancehall king, Samini will host Jamaican Dancehall superstar, Demarco in Ghana on July 1st, 2012 in a highly anticipated event dubbed “I Love My Life” Concert organized by Phamous TV, LCA Ghana Chapter and Viasat One Television.
Demarco was named as the main international artist for the show after Samini, an LCA Ghana ambassador, had asked his fans on facebook and twitter to name a dancehall artiste they would like to see perform alongside the decorated young Ghanaian performer.
Demarco has been a favorite of most Ghanaian music lovers and party-goers since songs such as ‘I Love My Life’, ‘True Friends’, ‘Fallen Soldiers’ and ‘Nuff Gyal’ became radio-friendly in Ghana. The 30-year old has since been linked to local concerts times without number, though none has materialized until now .
“I have been contacted by so many event promoters from Ghana but either no agreement was reached or the timing was bad until I was approached by Phamous Media Group / LCA Ghana a couple of weeks ago; and I’m more than glad to be doing Ghana as my first stop in Africa”, Demarco told The GH. Entertainer newspaper in a telephone conversation on June 1st.
Demarco (a.k.a Collin Edwards) was born on September 28, 1982 in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He migrated to New York in 1998 where his passion for music increased and he learnt to play several musical instruments. He started creating dancehall, R&B and hip hop rhythms with drums, keyboard and others. Demarco has written and produced songs for dancehall and hip hop greats like Sean Paul, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man Olivia (of G-Unit fame) and Styles P. “. He has recently recorded a remix to Rihanna’s Billboard #1 hit Rude Boy.
Multi-international award winner, Samini is hosting / headlining his second international concert under a year after he had pulled over 18,000 fans to the Accra sports stadium alongside Jamaican dancehall star, Mavado in October last year. After a month stay in the U.S to record two songs with international producer, Coptic, the MTN music ambassador has returned to Ghana to release a brand new single, Too Bad (June 2012), produced by El, ahead of the Republic Day showdown at the Dome.
Other Ghanaian musicians expected to share the stage with the two dancehall stars are highlife show stoppers Rex Omar and Kwabena Kwabena. Hip hop/ Hip life stage rockers Tinny, Asem, Edem, Kaki, Tinny, Jupiter, Nsemkwa (Yaa Pono), Myron AK etc. Eazzy is billed to hit the stage for the first time since she got back from the Big Brother Stargame house in South Africa. A top Nigerian music star would be announced the surprise act on the night. The Concert which targets all class of people for its diverse selection of highly sought-after artists, will be hosted by Abeiku Santana of Okay FM.
The event which is scheduled for the Dome (Accra International Conference Centre) will primarily aim at raising awareness on the uniqueness of the Shai Hills Resource Reserve and the conservation-led business model being planned and implemented by the LCA Ghana Chapter. Actively present in 16 African countries, The Leadership for Conservation in Africa (LCA) was initiated in August 2006 by the South African National Parks (SANParks), Gold Fields Ltd and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Samini will hold a media briefing on the concert on Tuesday, June 26, 2012.

My name is John Mulholland [JoNBoY] i have been making music for some time as well as songwriting,DJ’ing is a relatively new thing for me but i’ve done several parties and other functions over the last year or so to gain experience and to be honest simply because i love music so much, i have put a couple of tracks onto i-tunes and other music sites really early days stuff more dancy and since then i have looked at creating more diverse music like dubstep, electronica, deep house etc…i am hoping to start releasing my own music again soon as well as songs i’ve written, music production is a big part of my life and will continue to be so….you can check out my profile at myspace http://www.myspace.com/jonboy0601 and also soundcloud…http://soundcloud.com/jonboy0601

NAIJA’S DJ NEPTUNE TO FACE OFF GHANA’S DJ MENSAH @ GHANA MEETS NAIJA CONCERT
The Ghana Meets Naija has been known to be a musical concert showcasing musical talents from both Ghana and Nigeria; this year however, organizers, Empire Entertainment in a quest to include all facets of the music industry has revealed plans for a battle between the biggest DJs from both countries on the night.
The showdown which is being termed as a turntable-ist battle royale is set to go down between Nigeria’s highest rated DJ,mixtape specialist and Naeto C’s official disc jockey, DJ Neptune and Ghana’s finest DJ and Sarkodie’s official disc jockey, DJ Mensah.
This would be the first time; deejays from both countries are being pitched against each other and its set to become an exciting part of the show set for the Dome on the 30th of June 2012.
Meanwhile both deejays look to be prepping for a major showdown with DJ Neptune, revealing that in the coming weeks he would be releasing a special Ghana Meets Naijamixtape Vol.1 to prep music lovers ahead of the phenomenal clash at the Dome.
AkeemOladunni known as the Ever-blazing DJ Neptunes, has over the years grown to become recognized as Nigeria’s biggest party dj and has consistently churned out the biggest mixtapes on the Nigerian music market, and has managed to penetrate the African market with his Nigerian HiphopMixtape Volume 1 to 5. He recently release the Naija Party Mixtape and is receiving rave reviews from fellow Ghanaian and Nigerian Djs.
He started deejaying , from his secondary school days in Lagos, later graduating from the University with a masters degree in Audio Engineering.
Having this qualification cascaded him through his employment years as a qualified Chief Audio Engineer, where he held this position for many years at Galaxy Television Station. This showcased “The Notorious DJ Neptune” skills not only as an audio engineer but as a professional DJ also, this exposure enabled him to organise live performances and live broadcasts and to promote upcoming local and international artists. Having this exposure lead him to promote himself professional as a DJ and he started getting hired for local events such as birthday parties, weddings, Christenings, local clubs and Carnival celebrations.
More recently he wants to help promote Nigeria through music. For Nigerian music to be recognised worldwide. “The Notorious DJ Neptune” is heavily involved in Afro Beats, Hip Hop, RnB, and Bashment. You can now find “The Notorious DJ Neptune” spinning his “wheels of steels” every Friday and Saturday at Traffic Nightclub in Luton Beds where he is a resident DJ.”The Notorious DJ Neptune” is now based in the United Kingdom but still represents Nigeria to the fullest through music everywhere he goes
Ghana’s Untouchable, DJ Mensa is a force to reckon in the game of hip pop, R n B, High life and Hip life in Ghana and has been working as a DJ for eight years.
DJ Mensah began his deejaying career with Sound Max entertainment and went on to have short stints with Bull Dog and Yegoalanight club, Aphrodisiac Night Club and club 202 respectively. He was also famously the official DJ for Empire Entertainment a few years ago.
He holds an HND in purchasing and supply and a degree in marketing as well as certificates from the Ghana institute of Journalism in (voice and speech training), in marketing, communication, public relations and advertising.
