You're talking about local bands....back in the '60's we had outrageous bands visit and play at the Queens Hall.
The Poets, The Beatstalkers, Lulu, The Searchers, Billy Connoly and the list goes on. In my black and white book "Pop Stars from the '60's" I have photographs taken from the stage into the audience and I'm sure a lot of you would recognize yourselves. This was the start of a whole new generation of music that we all thoroughly enjoyed. We even travelled to Glasgow to see the big guys... Beatles, Stones,
Gerry and the Pacemakers performing at a local dance venue, can you imagine that happening nowadays? Then there were The Moody Blues...still going strong in the US and touring in Australia and New Zealand at present. ....Gene Pitney, Len Barry of 1..2..3..fame. Wayne Fontans and the Mindbenders played at Barrowland and Lulu visited with them back stage.
One of my favorites The Merseybeats after their gig in Greenock they drove us home to Dunoon via The Rest and Be Thankful and caught the first boat in the morning. We didn't get into Dunoon till about 3am...oh well.
I believe the UK is having trouble ordering this keepsake if that's the case please don't hesitate to contact me at:
dunoonuk@gmail.com.....then if you would like to preview the book go to www.xlibris.com/bookstore or diana murchison carrico this way I can order the book for you. "Pop Stars from the '60's" The company prints the book when ordered.
Would love to hear from all of you who would like a keepsake from such a great era.
Thanks

Spot on with this write-up, I actually suppose this web site wants far more consideration. I’ll probably be again to read far more, thanks for that info.
