Hello to all DCR listeners. Since Caribbean Nights with FrankieGee came on the air, I have endeavoured to give you a history of Salsa from my own personal experiences and point of view. In the coming weeks I will be conducting live, remote interviews, with some of the Masters of Salsa I talk about. You and I will be in for a special treat as I interview Larry Harlow “El Judio Maravilloso” (The Marvelous Jew), Andy Harlow, and one of their proteges and personal friend of mine from The Boogie Down Bronx Pete Nater. All three have earned Grammy Awards, and they have perfomed Salsa in every corner of the world, as ambassadors of Salsa Music. If you have any questions for these giants of Salsa, post them on my page and I will ask them for you. Tune in to my program every Monday night at 7pm, for a true history of Salsa.
FrankieGee

Hi to all the DCR Crew, greetings from sunny Beijing!
The weather is unusually hot at the moment that means the ski season will be delayed, boohoo! What a pity!
Nevermind, quite a few pop concerts are on the horizon in Beijing. Chinese pop diva Faye Wong just completed her 5 night comback shows in the city, now she’s off to do the same in Shanghai!
Australian pop duo Air Supply kick off a mini tour of China soon which will see them doing shows in GuangZhou, HangZhou, Shanghai and Beijing.
Next month the famous Danish pop band MLTR = Michael Learns To Rock will be back in China for an Unplugged Tour.
All the best, Duggy Day

You Guys seem to have caught the moment with your coverage of Breast Cancer Care we know it couldn’t have been easy for the women who came and spoke of their experience and must of helped a lot of women, this is what you guys need to focus on, the music is great but its not unique to the community like this. Put your heads together this is only scratching the surface and remember, surround yourselves with like minded people who will care for each other and the community.
Hi Fobbed off listener, Arthur unfortunately had to stop his programme due to personal circumstances and we will all miss him, I certainly will miss his little stories on a Monday night.
If you read more of the guestbook I think you will find that we don’t publish just the good comments!
Where is Arthur? Funny how only good comments get through on the guestbook isn’t it. Another good presenter away ~ what on earth are you doing to them???
Shame you can’t be completely open and publish the bad comments as well as the good ~ shame on you. Some “community” radio station!
Well done DCR. Victor & Simon great show. Smashing tunes not often heard. You guys really work hard to give the listener something interesting. My friends and myself really appreciate the work you put in and appreciate you are all volunteers. Thank you Victor and team Really really enjoyed Alasdair MacCuish tonight. This radio just gets better and better.
I have very little Gaelic however thoroughly enjoyed Alasdair
MacCuish’s programme tonight. I hope this is going to become a regular feature. Loved the Runrig number by the Glasgow Islay Choir and the piece by Atomic Piseag. Great arrangement.
Hi Folk,
Still getting you loud and clear over here in Oregon.
However I have just released a black and white photo book. A good selection of the pop stars that visited Dunoon and Glasgow back in the ’60’s.
To get a glimpse or purchase a copy go to http://www.xlibris.com/bookstore or diana murchison carrico.
Would like your feedback. Email..dunoonuk@gmail.com
Thanks

Hi all just to let you know still a regular listener and still enjoying Dunoon’s own radio
love Elaine S.
Surely,as big, grown up,mature adults,it`s not impossible for both sides to sit round a table and sort this out? After all,it`s not WW111 for goodness sake!!
Hi would just like to say what a sad day it will be if we loose our radio station after all the hard work of so many dedicated workers who work so hard in the background to produce this wonderfull radio station I wish you all good luck in keeping it going you know who you are love you all
I had a lovely evening back in May at your quiz night and thought the young lady Kim,exceptionally good.Since then myself and my family have been avid listeners. From my mother`s favourite show, the lovely Arthur,to the rock show which my hubby and daughter religiously listened to,I even liked it.And Sundays,we had the lovely Angi, followed by the wonderful Cuddles with Kim.
Now,it appears,in a very short space of time that many of these wonderful presenters have resigned for reasons we are not privvy to.For this to happen so quickly suggests to me – as someone who worked in management for 30 years – that there has been some poor mismanagement.I notice you have an agm soon, may I suggest that the first item on the agenda should be addressing a way of rescuing this sad situation. You have lost top quality shows and presenters!
WHERE IS DAVE MASON!!!! My saturday morning is ruined. we had a lovely saturday morning, get up my husband made pancakes while we listened to the lovely dave and often had a wee dance round the kitchen to his excelent music just the right mix for first thing on a sat. and his voice is just right for that first thing in the morning feeling when your ears really can’t take anything to loud and brash. BRING BACK DAVE!!! don’t listen at all now. not the same, you’ve runied a GREAT set up. bring back Dave now!
Justin has Left!!!!My fav Dj and fave rock show.WHY WHY WHY!!!
and others have left to.DUNOON radio not worht listening to
anymore……..bye
As an Artist I have a lot of time to kill while I paint. I enjoy listening to your station. The music is good and the banter. Thanks! Keep up the good work. I live in Mississippi.
hello, listening to your show at the moment and I have a request. Can you maybee play the song from the honeybus: she flyes like a bird??? it is for my friend Patricia Olde olthof.
She is living in Dunoon, lived in Holland when I met her.
We have good memories, driving in her car to Friesland and the children singing this song.
thank you very much!!!
Cudos to all who pulled off such a great feat of bringing the games to the four corners of the earth. People here always ask me if I get homesick how could that be when I see my home town every day and talk to my sister, cousins and friends on a regular schedule. Although years ago when I lived in Canada and you wanted to call home say at Christmas you had to book the call well in advance.
Thanks to Gibsons also for providing the continous web cam. It means a lot to us ex pat.
See you all next year.
diana…..oregon
Hi guys, just wanted to say what a fantastic job you did at Cowal Games and also on the website. You’ll really have made a difference to lots of people around the world who couldn’t make it home for the games – but got to listen to it, thanks to your hard work and effort. Well done and more power to your collective elbow! All the best, Aileen at the paper.
Hi to all the DCR Crew and all ur listeners too!
Greetings from really hot and humid Beijing, in China.
The concert scene is really happening here at the moment, in recent weeks famous international artists like Usher and Michael Bolton recently performed in the city! We’ve also seen lots of big Chinese stars like Jay Chou, Wang Lee Hom and Khalil Fong in concert, and in the coming months stars like Faye Wong and Emil Chou plan to tour the country.
By the way CRI’s website has been recently updated and my daily music programme called ‘Hot Pot’ can now be heard online at this link: http://english.cri.cn/cribb/programs/duggy.htm
All the best
Cuddles with Kim has recieved a fantasic response to the on ‘air’play of her little ‘name the DCR presenters’ tune but ‘alass’ I must inform you, that at this time there are no plans to take to the stage with ‘Cuddles with Kim The Musical’
Kim has yet to comment on the recent events some say still in shock that a private little sing-a-long to a popular tune was recorded and given ‘Air Play’
Kim was also not available to comment on the rumour that a ‘live’ performance is in ‘talks’ for inclusion in this weekends ‘Cuddles Live with Kim’ at the Dunoon Stadium Soccer Event.
Bobby B Good who made the original recording has indicated he will comment as soon as his fat swollen lip has returned to normal and he can speak.
There is in fact in the light of the popularity of the tune, plans for further ‘air time’ play as several presenters have voiced an interest and it was rumoured on ‘facebook’ this morning that a Rock Re-Mix suitable for the Friday Rock Slot with Justin Thyme may be in production at this very time , if this failes DJ Paul Polland has indicated he would like to listen to the failed attempt for suitability to play on his Thursday World of Alternative Music programme.
Ben Applybe has also indicated he would like to re-mix the original and haveing removed the cat plans a dance version for DJ Davy,
a traditional with pipes for Presenter (Come in, Come in) Arthur Miller
and a silent version with clicks for the Late late late ,very late, Breakfast Show.
All in all it looks as if we may not have heard the last of this ‘wee’ tune but of course this all depends on you the listener -we are here but to serve- DCR Admin
Now we know KiM can sing does this mean we shall be haveing more than just Cuddles every Sunday night. Can’t wait,
Heard Arthur Miller,s ”Scotlands Music” programme tonight (12.7.10)for the first time. Wonderful mixture of easily listened to and cheerful Scots and Irish nostalgia. Lovely to listen to especially when accompanied by Arthur’s entertaining and welcoming patter.First class.
You guys are finally up and running. The station sounds great. Your music director should get first prize. I will keep on listening as some things improve with age. Keep up the great work.
Hi to all the DCR Crew, greetings from hot and humid Beijing where the temperatures are breaking records!
