Thank you June and the many listeners who commented on the visit to the corridor from Sandie and Usama from the Palestine Conflict Resolution Centre In Bethlehem, the short time we spent talking was very rewarding for me and I hope the listener, as June wrote to hear them talking about their Christian beliefs, to learn a little of their culture and the hardships they face for their beliefs was very uplifting .
It was a little bit overwhelming when talking to them when you remember that these two people are direct descendents of folk who possibly listened to Jesus preach and at this time are only allowed with great difficulty a visit to those places their ancestors gathered as followers of Jesus –Remember in our prayers all our brothers and Sisters in Faith who really do tread a rocky road
Visitors from Bethlehem
It was Great to hear the visitors from Bethlehem talking about there Christian beliefs and to hear a little of there culture and the hardships they face for those beliefs enjoy our visit in Dunoon and I prey you touch many hearts on your visit and have a safe journey back home June xx

Hospice Silent Vigil
The sun was shining brightly
as the folk came into view
carrying brightly coloured balloons
reds and yellows pinks and blues
each one held a memory
of loved ones who had gone
each one held a message
please keep our hospice open
to close it would be wrong
and as the balloons were set free
some floated to the sky
but we could not believe our eyes
as most headed for the trees
just outside the hospice
for all the world to see
the silence fell within the folk
standing all around
yet still the balloons hung on
not one hit the ground
was if to say were hear today
and here is where well stay
so join the fight
for what is right
let your thoughts be known
and bring our hospice home

Because We Care
may the joy of health be with you
may you have a joyful life
may you always find contentment
free from grief and strife
no one knows there future
but do we rely care
when ill health comes upon us
is there anybody there
not so long ago we had a hospice
that gave such loving care
and it was such a comfort
just to know someone was there
many folk will know this
be it husband wife or friend
just to know there’s someone there
when life’s about to end
it wasn’t always doom and gloom
there were happy days and laughter
that echoed through each room
the staff were oh so helpful
angels in disguise
if there was an Oscar
they deserved the prize
I and many others have said so many prayers
to keep our hospice open
and we will keep on fighting
why because we care

Just listened to Victor’s show online from Kent via the wonder of the internet. Great show, a truly pleasureable couple of hours. And great to have a request played for me, the wonderful and inspiring Africa by To To. Pleased to hear that you are featuring them all week Victor, such a talented group with a fantastic variety of tracks. Thanks go to June too, for making the request for me.
Victors Underwear
I wonder what type Victor wears
Boxers Y fronts briefs or thongs
I wonder if he will share
The secret of his underwear
I have a theory of my own
I think commando
when he wears his kilt
Boxers when he’s home relaxing
briefs and Y fronts for when he’s dancing
thongs for when he goes romancing
I wonder if we will ever know
Perhaps he could reveal it on his show

Digital Switchover
At last at last would you believe
they arrived today and fixed my digital TV
I had some trouble I’m sure you know
I couldn’t even watch a show
The men had been here twice before
but they did nothing what a bore
Third time lucky so they say
so I waited for the final day
The young lad came digi box in hand
and a satellite dish was in his van
3 hours later would you believe
I can watch digital TV

Friday Night Rocks 10.00pm-MIDNIGHT
I have a special treat for all you metal heads and rockers out there.
I am going to be showcasing an, as yet, unsigned Glasgow metal band, Touch of Severity. They are a very tight 5 piece band who, i am sure, we will be hearing more of in the future. Hear them first on Friday Night Rocks.
They are also looking to play Dunoon in the not too distant future, so hopefully you will have the opportunity to see them live soon too.

Ni Hao, to all the DCR Crew and ur listeners too!
Greetings from a very hot and humid Beijing, just the way I like it!
A month ago I attended the biggest Chinese pop concert in history at China’s national stadium which is also called the ‘Birds Nest’. The amazing concert lasted over 5 hours and featured 30 top Chinese recording stars from the past till the present! Over 60,000 music fans were there!
This coming weekend the Birds Nest will host the ‘KAMA Love Music Festival’ which will feature many international acts like the Cowboy Junkies, The Eels and Lisa Ono, and many big Chinese artists like Wu Bai, Hao Yun, and Gala. It promises to be a music festival to remember!
Good evening, listening to you from work in the Gulf of Mexico on a marine vessel. I like the sound of DCR. Please play a song for the Scottish Ambulance crews in Dunoon and June and
Ernest Hayes whom live in Dunoon. Thanks alot

Tutti Frutti
Tutti Frutti came to town on a huge big lorry
they danced there socks of everyone
and hoped to raise a tidy sum
the dresses that they wore were ace
brought back memories of my younger days
for I to used to rock and roll
but now I’m just a poor old soul
The children danced with all there might
It filled my heart with shear delight
to see that they enjoyed the day
and rock and roll is here to stay

Digital switchover update
The steam is coming from my head
I wish that I had stayed in bed
The Digital man arrived today
my smile it soon became a frown
I wasn’t happy with what he had to say
he said he would have to return another day
They hadn’t told him to fit a dish
I told him to watch my TV was my only wish
I felt quite sorry for the lad
as I confided with the trouble I’ve had
A new date has been set again
they say I should be sorted then
But I keep thinking When When When
June Potts xx
Digital switchover (WHEN)
I’m sitting here one again
waiting for the digital men
My fingers are crossed
my eyes are to
waiting for the digital view
I have one channel
on the box
but I was told digital rocks
I’m very patient as you can see
so no more problems or you will here from me

Hello regular listeners and welcome to those who want to sample some Sounds of the South.
Next Tuesday, May 24th, I am featuring a few lesser known tunes by lesser known artists from the 1950s that some folks call rockabilly and some folks call rock n’ roll. There’ll also be virtuoso ragtime finger pickin’ guitar from the Reverend Gary Davis, bluegrass from the Coon Creek Girls back in 1938, Blind Blake’s ‘Southern Rag’ (1927) and a work song recorded by prisoners in the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman Farm in 1947. As a modern (1970!) contribution I’ll be playing what I think is the greatest recorded version of the great blues classic ‘Key To The Highway’ by Derek and the Dominoes. I hope you can join me.
Stay well, Dr-Phil
this is a great idea i would love the same foe Ballycastle as we have the new ferry coming at the end of may from Campbeltown
