Picking you up on the internet in beautiful Oregon by The Mighty Columbia River.
This is great and music of the 50’s and 60’s …icing on the cake.
We’ve gone from pirates on the rivers and oceans to Argyll Street, Dunoon. Who’d have thought……Congratulations and Thanks

Och! Hoot!
Its good to hear you coming at me from the Highlands! My ancestors are from Lochgoilhead and surrounding area. My Grandfather immigrated to Manitoba in 1909. I like to stay in touch with my roots, besides, one never knows when the Chief may issue a Call to Arms of the Great Clan! You’re doing a fine job, I like the eclectic mix of music, it reflects your cultural interests. Sincerely, Robert of Auburn, Nova Scotia

Hi Shaz
It really depends where you are if you can pick us up on a radio. We offically have a 3 mile radius but are being picked up in Strone, Kilmun and down to Innellan Pier, though some people can get us upstairs past this point. Over the water we can apparently be heard between Port Glasgow and Inverkip and even in Helensburgh. So if your not in that area you might have to take the car for a run!
14 Inverclyde Radio // Dec 23, 2009 at 11:35 am
Shaz can get Inverclyde Radio simply because they only stream via the internet. DCR do not do so as yet.
Seasons Greetings to all at DCR and listeners…

24 IFMonline // Dec 7, 2009 at 12:10 pm
unfortunatley using the internet as a source of transmission, or streaming to be correct, costs additional fees and charges so perhaps DCR may be best leaving this until the new year at least? unless of course they have plenty pennies

32 Scottish Community Broadcast Network // Dec 1, 2009 at 4:31 pm
On behalf of Scotland’s Community Radio Broadcast Network….
Congratulations to Victor and the dedicated team of volunteers, who have given the Dunoon Community the opportunity to have a real discussion about everything and anything that gets them talking !!!! and gets them thinking about how to make life better, more fun and definately more enjoyable.
Community radio has the power to stimulate, inform, challenge and engage communities in conversation and that can promote change, in a very powerful and effective way by enabling everyone to have a voice.
From all of the Community Radio Stations across Scotland that actively promote the values of volunteer broadcasting, we wish you well on your launch and hope the public get behind their new station to make it a resounding success.
You have worked extremely hard to make Dunoon Community Radio a reality, we hope that the local employers, residents and the hundreds of community organisations that tune in, will help make it a successfull innovative and inclusive station.
Best wishes, well done, good luck and as we always say in radio land…….”More Power to your aerial !!!!!”
33 Jim McHarg // Dec 1, 2009 at 1:31 pm
Victor !!
What a man !! and What a Team !!!
Your now live on air and enjoying the buz of real radio, live in the studio with locals getting the real time experience and power of sharing the trials and tribulation, that is everyday life in Dunoon.
Its been a long arduous journey, but your tenacity, vision and uncompromising belief in your community, has got you there…brilliant !!
From all of us here at 3TFM we hope our new neighbours go from strength to strength… maybe we could organise a “DJ” exchange programme across the water as your volunteer base grows…
As we say further down the coast.. Still Keeping it real and making you smile !!! Enjoy the experience……
Big Jim McHarg

Well, well! How things change. I have gone through this site to see if any of my childhood friends still lived in the area. Thje ONLY name I recognise is Dick Walsh and I see he is still the same old political animal. What has happened to Cecil Moffat, Philip Dale, Tony Greely, Walter Elbourne, Andrew Sharp, Peggy McLaughlin or Oliphant with whom I shared the dux prize at the Old Innellan School around 1946/7. Now is Harry Mathieson the son of Stewart?

Hello again folks greetings from chilly Beijing!
Last night I saw Kylie Monogue’s fabulous X 2008 concert here in Beijing, and she was really amazing!
About 6000 excited fans were at the concert and most of us were on out feet throughout the show singing along!
One of the many highlights was when Kylie spoke to the audience in Mandarin Chinese, telling us that she was so happy to be in China.
It was the best concert I’ve seen in Beijing this year, wow!!!

Hello Carol thanks for enquiring about DCR on the ON AIR page.
To answer your questions as briefly as possible –we shall be on air as soon as all the technical things are to Ofcoms satisfaction which shouldn’t be too long, they will then give us a FM signal number and a start date.
It is our intention to have our radio programmes go out on the internet and we indeed hope to have wee samples of some of these programmes available very soon on the website for everyone to listen to. So don’t be a stranger and stay away for too long .
P.S. Have you checked out our friends at DUNOON PEEPS site?

Lochgoilhead Fiddle Workshop, with which I am involved has for the last 5 years fought to bring top quality traditional music to the area, and teaches adults and in five local schools. We hope the Station can have at least some focus on our local and national heritage
We salute the fund raising efforts put in to date and wish the station bon voyage!
