DCR97.4FM PARTICIPATES IN LOCAL RADIO DAY

Professional Broadcaster Derek McIntyre  tells DCR97.4FM listeners what Local Radio Day is about before going out and about in the Community in his bright Red Hoodie 

Over 75 local radio stations have confirmed their participation in Local Radio Day 2017.

The day itself, 26th May, brings together radio stations from across the sector to celebrate local radio and the communities it serves and the number taking part is well up on last years’ inaugural event.

Radio stations from the whole broadcasting sector will be represented on Local Radio Day, from hospital, prison and school radio, to community, commercial and the BBC. All will be celebrating local radio engagement in the areas and communities they are proud to serve and broadcast to.

We believe that Dunoon Community Radio local radio is an important part of our local community and to this end try to get involved in many of the communities activities as we can sharing the experience with our worldwide listeners.

Today we are looking forward to greeting old and new friends into our studio and looking forward to saying hello to the Scottish Singing Legend Maggie Reilly, local Dunoon musician and well-known contributor to the tapestry of Popular music Stuart MacKillop will be saying hello Gordon Dougall from Ignatz is in town as is Brian McNeil from China Crises

We will also have DCR’s favourite “full –time broadcaster” Derek McIntyre —be it for another Radio Station contributing as he promotes Local Radio Day for his proper job Radio Station.

Derek will be joining us later this evening at the High Kirk Hall in Hanover Street
