As the Crowds flocked to what has been hailed as the start of the Summer Festival Season the sun shone down on Argyll for the start of Gig In The Goil held at the Scotland’s world famous Drimsynie House Hotel at DRIMSYNIE Holiday Village overlooking Loch Goil. Festival goers and holiday makers alike bathed in a the glorious sun outside the Holiday Complex whilst inside the first of over sixty act prepared to entertain for three days .

Starting off the Festival where one of the many acts who had travelled many miles to ensure Festival goers were treated to a great flavour of what the Scottish music scene is about today .The first act to start off the festival did so from the Main Stage and were billed as “The Next Big Thing”.

Hailing from Dundee the “The Next Big Thing” were in fact the Kashmir Crows a five piece band who had won a competition to open this years Gig In The Goil 2017 by receiving many thousand “likes” on a face book competition organised by the GITG Team.

Band members Ian Black (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar) Rajan Vaid (Lead Guitar) Angela Branney (Keys) Alex Campbell (Bass) and Craig Armstrong (Drums) certainly nailed their opening set having the sun basking festival goers clambering to get inside the main venue to soak up the sounds of the bands eclectic mix of rock, soul, blues and funk with awesome Hammond organ, funky bass lines, powered drumming, exquisitely delivered guitar riffs and vocals delivered with raw emotion and sincere passion.

The GITG team could not have picked a more worthy opening act had they tried as this band ticked all the boxes and even some no one new about

Joining the festival goers was the 13 strong outside broadcasting crew from Dunoon Community Radio DCR97.4FM@GITG part of the 23 strong team ready to interview and record acoustic set from the mobile studio set up in the Big Games Area.

The backup team in the John Street broadcasting studio where ready to take over if need required and spent a lot of time relaying messages from listeners on the FM band and across the world on the internet .
