DCR AT CELTIC CONNECTIONS 2012

It doesn’t seem like twelve months have passed since our second broadcast of events from the world famous Celtic Connection held in Glasgow and brought to us by our friends in the Studio across the water Celtic Music Radio.

Once again for the third year we shall  be  broadcasting this years event starting at 4.00pm Thursday 19th January from the Exhibition Hall of The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for the launch and Torchlight Parade including meeting Torch-lighters followed by the Lord Provost’s formal opening of Celtic Connections 2012.

We shall of course be broadcasting the Famous  Danny Kyle Open Stage live daily at 5.00pm compered by Danny’s close friend CMR presenter Liz Clark and Commentary from Bill Morris and Ken Macdonald.. This event once again will be broadcast live from the Exhibition Hall of The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and is free to attend so be sure if you do manage to  get along do go and say hello at the Celtic Music Radio Studio situated to the left  of the stage.

Most days live broadcast will start late morning through to early evening and besides the best of Celtic music and information as to what is happening presenters from Celtic Music Radio and our own Ian Wilson and Victor will be interviewing artist who shall be appearing at the event and some of the interesting people visiting.

SCBN NOMINATED FOR SCOTTISH PRESS AWARD

Scotland’s Community Radio Network of which Dunoon Community Radio is a part of has been nominated in this year’s Scottish Press Awards.

The SCBN programme The Leaders made and broadcast on Dunoon Community Radio during the Scottish election campaign, has been nominated in this year’s Scottish Press Awards

The ground-breaking network programme, The Leaders, is being judged in the digital product of the year section.

The programme was produced and presented by Charles Fletcher of Caledonia Media for the network.

The winners will be announced in April

COWAL HIGHLAND GATHERING NOMINATED FOR PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL NOEA AWARD

the NOEA Awards Dinner to be held at the Birmingham International Airport Hotel on Thursday 22nd March.

Tonight Argyll & Bute Council Leader, Dick Walsh will be popping into the (ever decreasing ) Corridor to Join  Victor on the LLLVLBS to bring us all up to date with current events – and it has certainly been a busy time here in Argyll & Bute with more comments on the Ferries being aired –the recent weather conditions and it’s aftermath and not just falling trees , but hopefully the councilor will as always have some positive comments to make  and updates on the CHORD project and MOD 2012

Due to listener demand for more from DJ Will Jukes as of this Sunday 8th January 2012 the show will now be extended by one hour and will start each week at the earlier time of 10.00PM.

DJ Will has announced on his presenter page that this extra hour will now allow him to feature many more one hour guest mixes and he will start immediately with a one hour guest mix featuring Top DJ, the Legend that is Jon Mancini who recently headlined at a sell out concert here  in Dunoon
