ABBAMANIA COMES TO DUNOON
Victor and Douglas love nothing more than an excuse to don their sparkly flares and medallions so with ABBAMANIA coming to Dunoon on Saturday 13th February they jumped at the chance to take a week long trip back down memory lane and relve their youth?! So listen in for special features, competitions and of course plenty of ABBA tunes to sing a long too, to get you in the mood. But be quick if you want a ticket for the show at the Queen’s Hall as they are apparently going fast.
ABBAMANIA perform a wonderful replica of ABBA LIVE Concert that fans throughout the world were enthralled with back inthe 1970′s. they where formed in 1998 are Scotlands original ABBA tribute band and are know recognised as one of the most authentic re-creation bands in the world.
ABBAMANIA have hit ‘GOLD’ with their recreation of ABBA in concert and will have you dancing in the aisles with their fabulous live show featuring nearly 2 hours of pure …. ABBA …. nostalgia.
For more information on the band see their website www.abbamania-show.co.uk

Happy New Year everyone.Looking forward to great things 2011
Great website. I went to see abbamania at the Queens hall too. Was a good night in all. I agree with george that Frida was the much much better singer. She really stole the show. Would be good to see her doing some solo stuff at some point. I didn’t like Agnethas voice as much. I have seen the other abbamania shows as well, and they are all much of a muchness. Just different singers singing the same songs. Had a great night and hopefully see them back soon.
Oh Dear, i have caused a bit of a debate here! I had no idea the girls from the band were polish as I hadn’t heard the interview on radio.
I did say that it was a good night and that I was probably being picky, which is something that people seem to have missed in my original comment. Being an old ABBA fan from the 70′s, I was expecting a better show. I also did not say there was anything wrong with “Agnethas” singing …………….. she did speak and sing in a very stong accent, which I have been informed by several people is polish and not fake swedeish. I think the band could have made a wee bit more of an effort with cotumes, especially the male members of the show and the harmonies were not original to ABBAs, although there is no doubt that the girls can both sing (especially “Frida” who was the strongest and most talented vocalist in the show and I would have paid good money to hear that girl sing in a show of her own). Sorry if I sound like an old grump but that probably because I am. But I did have a good night.
Abbamania was all about a good night out and the radio interview and the 70s music shows got you ready to party
Well ABBAMANIA seems to have sparked a discussion anyway! Glad to see people are at least using the website.
I agree with the ‘abba girls’ comment, Ewa Scott had mentioned in the interview that she was Polish (your polish accent would prob be awful too!) and I think you’ll find they don’t wear wigs or false beards as its a tribute to the music of ABBA and not as look-a-like group.
Personally I thought it was very good, harmonies my not be as per the record but doubt you could reproduce these LIVE anyway.
All in all I think its about enjoying yourself, its not ABBA its a fun night out. I’ve been at some really bad shows and still had a ball. Let your hair down. ha
All the best everyone, and keep up the good work DCR.
George I think Ewa Scott the singer you thought had a bad swedish accent may have been using her own accent, she said in the radio interview she came from Poland, regardless of her accent there was nothing wrong with her singing. My friends and I had a brilliant night and we even got to see Douglas off the radio strutting his stuff
Lots of debate over which abbamania show people prefer…..very unusual for a comments page!!! There are certainly several “ABBAMANIA” shows doing the rounds just now, and loads of good abba tributes going about in general, especiall after Mama Mia. I am a massive ABBA fan and have been since they first appeared in the seventies (yes I was there first time around and I’m giving away my age). Althought the abbamania show was fairly good, I was dissapointed at the lack of authenticity (Frida and Agnetha wearing wrong costumes, singing different harmonies from ABBA, Benny and Bjorn didn’t have ABBA Hair do’s or Authentic costumes and Agnethas fake swedish accent was simply awful…would have been better if she used her own accent and I felt the lighting show could have been much much better) but Im probably being picky and all in all it was a good night. I think ABBA were so fantastic that their music will always go down well, no matter which ABBAMANIA show sings it. However, I think that in Abba Tribute land, you just can’t beat Bjorn Again, who are the original and the best ABBA Tribute in the World. I saw them in Edinburgh last year and they are simply incredible.
Listened to the run up to the show on the radio all week and heard the Abbamania girls interview, they certaintly sounded if they were enjoying themselves.
The show was great, look forward to seeing them again
we seen another group last yesr in edinburgh using a similar name but there were only 6 in the group and no where near as good.
I to thought they looked as if they really enjoyed themselves and i’m glad so many turned out and from what i’ve heard i.m also glad so many enjoyed the band.
What an amazing night we had last night! The whole band looked as though they loved every minute on that stage and so did we! I hope Abbamania comes back soon!
There is only 1 ABBA Tribute band called Abbamania and they have been going for 10 years. However, there is a stage show Abba Mania which plays in the West End as well as touring the country and they do have a 11 piece band with string section behind them not sure if it is them that you saw before.
How many ABBAMANIA’s are there???!!??? Not the band or show I was expecting to see. Dissapointed as the other abbamania are much better ……….. sorry.
Good work from Dunoon Community Radio. Great to see you are promoting local events in such an entertaining way.
looking forward to your next promotion.

What an ABBA-TASTIC evening!
The whole band were great. The show was fantastic from start to finish, and the atmosphere was really good.
We thought the radio interview was a nice touch and the girls both seem lovely.
Thanks again from us all!
