Local Piper at the Tartan Day Parade
Local piper Alasdair Henderson took part in the New York City Tartan Day Parade as a representative of the Royal Scottish Academy for Music and Drama (RSAMD) where he is currently a student. The parade was lead by Alan Cumming a former RSAMD student and now president of their American Foundation, he was using the parade to launch a new Scholarship Fund in the US for the RSAMD.
Alasdair was joined in the parade by three other students from the RSAMD, two pipers and a clarach player. The parade proceeds along 6th Avenue past the Rockerfeller Centre and Radio City Music Hall before finishing opposite the Carnegie Hall.
It looks like they all enjoyed the Parade as they posed for a photograph outside the Carnegie Hall with Mike Russell; Minister for Culture, External Affairs and Constitution.

With thanks to the Scottish Government and Debra L Rothenberg – Feature Photo Service for pictures
