The main problem in finding a “home” for Dunoon Community Radio was twofold: the first issue we are all too familiar with is finance and the second, is location. In order for as many people as possible to receive our broadcasting signal, we have had to do many tests from different locations in Dunoon to find which is the best location to site our transmitting aerial. Due to the topography of Dunoon, there are not many sites available and some of them are either not practicable or unobtainable. Fortunately this can be done on a laptop and Tony Wood our Technical Director has identified available locations that may suit our purpose. Hopefully we will have a home very soon.

Good idea Carol. Is it also a possibility to have the studio(s) in a re-vamped Burgh Hall, which I am sure would be a great asset to the project? Hope that local schoolchildren can be involved in some programming, as I`m sure they would bring a great prospective to the listeners, and boost their education.

Hello Carol, thanks for your comments, nice to hear from you.
As for your suggestion to re-site our aerial we are hopefull the present site will suffice for the next few years but no harm in keeping it in mind especially as it is possibly the highest point in town.
As for a “God Spot” we are currently in the process of putting together a format for a programme which we hope will be appealing to representatives of all religions

Hi all at DCR,
re siting for aerial, I don’t suppose the guys in St John’s Church would be amenable? There is some handy scaffolding up already and they could do a “God Spot” live every Sunday for all the housebound parishioners…
Just a thought.
